From Childhood Treasures to Bookstagram Connections

“Reading is an escape, an exploration, and a way to understand another person’s mind and see the world through their eyes.”

This month, I’m delighted to introduce Mary—a lifelong reader whose passion for books began in childhood. Her vast collection of children’s books was her greatest treasure, so much so that she once told her mom to give away her toys but never her books!

For Mary, reading is an escape, an exploration, and a way to understand another person’s mind and see the world through their eyes. She finds it fascinating, especially when the world is fictional. Most importantly, reading is about connection. She loves how mere words on paper can bring strangers together and spark conversations.

Mary’s journey into bookstagram started in September 2022, and it has been a wonderful adventure. She enjoys sharing her love for books and connecting with fellow readers. Besides her bookish pursuits, Mary has a background in music—she used to sing, play the piano, and perform, although it’s been a while since she last did. Professionally, she is a Physical Therapist, and she brings the same dedication to her reading life. Mary is a fiction enthusiast and will read anything that piques her interest.

Her presence on bookstagram is marked by her genuine love for books and her eagerness to engage with the community. Whether she’s sharing book recommendations, discussing her latest reads, or simply connecting with other book lovers, Mary is all about fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
