Never Lie

"Never Lie" plunges readers into a chilling and suspenseful mystery, where newlyweds Tricia and Ethan find themselves trapped in an isolated manor during a brutal winter storm. What begins as a search for their dream home quickly transforms into a harrowing ordeal as they uncover the secrets hidden within the walls of the estate.

I was drawn to the dual perspectives and the unique format of the story, which includes recordings of patient sessions conducted by Dr. Adrienne Hale. The twists and turns kept me guessing, and I found myself second-guessing my own perceptions as the plot unfolded.

What I loved:

  1. Dual POVs

  2. The recordings of patient sessions

  3. Isolated setting

However, when the truth behind Dr. Hale's disappearance is finally revealed, I couldn't shake off a sense of being intentionally misled. Does that make sense? (I don't want to give anything away so if you want to chat more on this, DM me.) Once the reveal happened I couldn't help but feel a bit disconnected from the story's conclusion. The irony of the title "Never Lie" wasn't lost on me, as the revelations left me questioning the reliability of the characters and their motivations.

While it may not be a book that lingers in my memory, it provided an enjoyable escape into a world of secrets and suspense.
