Stuck with You

'Stuck With You' throws readers into the confined space of a New York elevator, trapping Sadie with Erik, the man who shattered her heart.

Erik steals the spotlight in this short story with his charm and sincerity. I wish we could have read from his POV. Sadie was an interesting FMC, even when she frustrated me. Plus, it was funny to visualize the height differences between these two MCs.

What I loved:

  1. Erik

  2. The stuck elevator setting

  3. When they both spoke their truths!

While the narrative offers a playful and engaging tone, it leans heavily on the miscommunication trope, which, admittedly, isn't my favorite. Just talk! Sadie's tendency to jump to conclusions got a bit frustrating, and I found myself wishing for more open communication sooner rather than later.

In the end, 'Stuck With You' delivers a satisfying resolution, but it didn't quite reach the heights of the other short stories in the collection for me.
