Summer Sparrow

In Summer Sparrow, Rylee is back in Boston, separated from her newfound family and the man she loves. Determined to uncover evidence to bring down the dangerous Vipers and corporations threatening her loved ones, she must navigate through nightmarish memories and dangerous alliances.

This sequel is all about Rylee’s healing journey, and it was handled beautifully. Seeing her cope with everything she endured in September Doves was emotional but rewarding, and I loved watching her navigate her trauma on her terms. Her resilience and strength shine, making her character development one of the best parts of this book.

What I loved:

  1. Rylee’s Growth

  2. The Ending

  3. Danny, Minho, and Alex

Colton, on the other hand, drove me a little crazy in this one. The lack of communication between him, his friends, and Rylee was frustrating (seriously, would it kill him to answer a call?). I get why he made the choices he did, but it definitely put me through it. That said, he redeems himself in the end, and I appreciated his growth.

The pacing was perfect, the plot unfolded like a movie in my head, and the setting added to the intensity. Hoyt knows how to create tension and keep readers engaged. If you read September Doves, you HAVE to see how this duology wraps up. The perfect mix of suspense, romance, and healing—worth the read!
