Chasing Wild
"Chasing Wild" follows the romance between Summer, the flower shop owner, and Chase, the Sheriff, which blooms (pun) amidst the backdrop of small-town and community gatherings. However, strange things have started to happen to Summer, and Chase is determined to find out who is responsible.
Summer and Chase have a great relationship because of their open communication, both inside and outside the bedroom, highlighting their strong connection. I like how Chase was determined to make Summer feel important and worthy of being taken care of. Plus, Lily, Summer's French bulldog, is too cute!
What I loved:
Small town setting
Summer + Chase
Women empowerment
One of my favorite themes was the women's empowerment throughout the narrative, showcasing the strength and support found among the female characters. Plus, the dual point of view adds depth to the story, allowing readers to understand the characters' motivations and emotions.
However, the mystery element, while intriguing, lacks suspense as the culprit's identity feels obvious from the start. Additionally, the fast-paced nature of the story sometimes sacrifices detail, leaving scenes feeling underdeveloped and making it challenging to fully be immersed in the story.
Furthermore, significant events, particularly regarding Summer's relationship with her parents, lack sufficient buildup and explanation, causing them to feel somewhat abrupt and disconnected from the overall narrative.
This is a good story if you're looking for a quick, fun small-town romance. If you just go along for the ride and don't question anything you should be good.
