House of Sky and Breath
This sequel to "House of Earth and Blood" continues the captivating story of a world on the brink of explosion, with Bryce, Hunt, and their friends fighting for what's right. The balance between sexy, action-packed scenes and emotional depth is spot on, making this a must-read for fans of the series.
Holy Moly! "House of Sky and Breath" is packed with so much to unpack, and I loved every moment of it. This installment introduces us to more characters and gives us their perspectives, adding layers of depth to the already intricate plot.
Ruhn has easily become one of my favorites, and his relationship with Agent Day was a delight, even though I guessed who it was. The side characters like Flynn, Baxian, and Cormac added richness to the story, bringing more depth to the plot and setting. Plus, the humor sprinkled throughout had me chuckling multiple times, especially Flynn with the fire sprites.
What I loved:
Ruhn + Agent Day
Bryce + Hunt
THAT ENDING!?!?!?
However, A LOT was going on and so much was revealed that it's a lot to remember. The intricate web of plots and subplots can be overwhelming, but it’s a testament to Maas' storytelling prowess that she can keep us hooked despite the complexity. I will say, that Danika reminds me of Dumbledore in the way she kept a lot of secrets making Bryce have to work hard to get answers, just like Harry had to do. HA!
I'm so nervous about the third book based on where the characters have been left off. I am super worried about Hunt, Ruhn, and Baxian. (Don't hurt my boys!) I have heard mixed reviews on the next book so I am going in with lower expectations. Wish me luck!
