Love on the Brain

'Love on the Brain' throws readers into the world of neuroengineering with Bee, a scientist dreaming of leading a groundbreaking project. However, her dreams take an unexpected turn when she's paired with Levi Ward, a former archenemy from grad school.

The dynamic between Bee and Levi was cute, and Bee's hidden identity as the 'What Would Marie Curie Do?' social influencer adds a delightful layer. Yet, their progression from rivals to potential allies didn't quite reach the depth I experienced with Olive and Adam from the first book. Levi, especially, faded from memory post-reading.

What I loved:

  1. Bee's determination

  2. Rocío + Kaylee

  3. The Marie Curie love

I will say the thing that really threw me for a loop was the twist involving the villain at the end. It felt too far-fetched and came out of nowhere for the character. The resolution left me grappling with whether it enhanced or detracted from the story.

'Love on the Brain' offers a solid blend of science and romance, but the balance between character development and plot twists might not resonate with every reader.
