Meet Me at the Lake

This novel delves into the complexities of love, found and lost, and the hopeful journey of self-discovery. It's set against a backdrop of serene lake views and the promise of second chances, with multiple flashbacks to help give a backstory for the current timeline. However, by the end of the novel, I didn't feel like I was connected to Fern and Will. I like parts of their relationship, and I loved the ten-year flashbacks to when they first met, but I felt like the ending was rushed. Plus, some of the intimate scenes came out of nowhere with Will. His personality did not match what he would say/do in those moments.

What I liked:

  1. The picturesque lake setting

  2. The chapters on Fern and Will's first meeting

  3. Peter

In essence, 'Meet Me at the Lake' is a gentle wade through the waters of love and self-realization rather than the deep dive into emotional currents that I was anticipating.
