Rock Paper Scissors
The narrative unfolds through Adam and Amelia, a couple seeking to repair their marriage in a remote Scottish village. Because nothing says 'fix our marriage' like being stranded together in a remote, creepy chapel in the middle of a snowstorm.
I enjoyed most of this book and its structure between multiple POVs and letters. Plus, I always love a secluded setting for a mystery story. Nothing builds suspense better than characters being cut off from the rest of the world. However, there were still a few things that kept this from being a top-notch thriller.
What I loved:
The anniversary letters
The secluded setting
Bob
What kept it from a five-star rating was that not one character was likable. Because of that, I couldn't connect deeply with the story. Plus, there were a lot of twists again that made it feel like too much. The main twist was great, but everything revealed after that was not as impactful.
