The Edens - A Legacy Story
In this short story (prequel to The Edens series), Anne finds herself facing an unexpected New Year's cabin getaway with her high school ex, Harrison Eden. While the reunion brings nostalgic moments and glimpses into Mamma and Papa Eden's early days, the story leaves me with mixed feelings.
I loved the setting and the opportunity to witness Anne and Harrison's interaction after years apart. The tension and banter hinted at unresolved emotions, adding depth to their history. However, as Anne explains the reason behind their high school breakup, I couldn't help but feel that Harrison got off easy. (pun intended)
What I loved:
The last moments between Anne and Harrison
The snowy cabin setting
Considering the shortness of the story, I understand the challenge of diving deeper into the characters' emotions. BUT, I found myself wanting a bit more development, especially in Harrison's understanding and acknowledgment of Anne's feelings. The forgiveness seemed too easily granted.
'The Edens - A Legacy Story' serves its purpose as a brief, nostalgic glimpse into the Edens' world.
