The Upside of Falling

This romance is about Becca Hart, who finds herself entangled in a web of lies when she impulsively pretends to have a secret boyfriend after being teased by her former best friend. Enter Brett Wells, the popular football captain, who decides to play the part of the mystery guy to ease the pressures both face.

Despite the promising premise, the execution left me wanting more. The development of Becca and Brett's connection felt rushed, and the dynamics of their relationship lacked the depth I craved. The story felt like it jumped around a bit, and it was hard to stay invested.

What I liked:

  1. The fake dating trope

  2. Becca's love for reading

While 'The Upside of Falling' had its moments of sweetness, the overall narrative and character dynamics fell short of creating a truly engaging and authentic experience.
