Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

In this mesmerizing novel, Sam and Sadie, creative partners in the world of video game design, embark on a journey that transcends time, fame, joy, and tragedy. This story weaves together emotions that are both beautiful and tragic.

This novel surprised me with its fluid narrative style and the ups and downs of a friendship. My favorite parts were when Sam and Sadie were creating video games. I wish some of these games were real so I could play them. Their dynamic was enchanting in these moments. My favorite was Marx. His optimism and support for both were endearing and needed. Plus, all the video game references brought back nostalgia for growing up with my brother.

What I loved:

  1. Video Game References

  2. Creative Story Structure

  3. Marx

The characters, deeply flawed yet utterly human, navigate success, betrayal, and creative ambitions. However, I found myself frustrated many times by both Sam and Sadie. Their lack of communication was exhausting, but I get their personalities made it a struggle most of the time. Finally, while I loved the creative structure of the novel, I can see how it can be a challenge to some readers. Those who appreciate a non-linear narrative will find it a rewarding experience.

Zevin's exploration of love goes beyond the conventional, offering a unique and unforgettable perspective. 'Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow' is not just a love story; it's an exploration of the various nature of connection and the profound impact of our creative endeavors.
