Mirror of Malice

'Mirror of Malice' is a fairytale retelling of Snow White and follows Liliath, imprisoned by her stepmother for the past two years. She gets rescued not by her betrothed but by the King of Thieves, Penn Vanderbilt.

This was a fun read and I enjoyed the slow burn between Liliath and Penn. Their banter back and forth kept me smiling throughout the story, and Liliath wasn't afraid to back down, even though she had A LOT to learn about herself and those around her. It was funny when she later criticized herself for not paying attention more to lessons that would have helped in sticky situations.

What I loved:

  1. Banter and sassiness between Penn and Liliath

  2. The world of Arathia

  3. Driscoll and Jillian ("That man right there has no problem getting it up. He's definitely fixed the issue." - I died 🤣)

This story unfolds with a good blend of humor, intrigue, and simmering tension. However, I felt the ending was rushed with the evil stepmother and Liliath's internal monologue repeated various times. I think some stuff in the middle of the story could have been condensed to add more to the ending. Despite this, I still found myself wanting to know what happened next. I am intrigued to read the next one.

'Mirror of Malice' is an entertaining read for fans of slow-burn romance, adventure, fairytale retellings, and a sassy FMC.
